When you use Summarizer, we collect:

• Account Information: Email address, website URL, and a unique client ID.
• Usage Data: Number of summaries generated, pages summarised, regeneration events, upvotes/downvotes, widget hits.
• Technical Data: IP address, browser type, timestamps, and the content of articles you submit for summarisation (sent to Groq AI; we cache the summary and a hash of the content).
• Feedback: Responses to "Was this helpful?" prompts, which we store anonymously.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the Service (generate summaries, enforce quotas, cache results).
• To improve our AI prompts and dashboard features.
• To send you service emails (welcome, quota warnings, trial expiry, summary updates). You can opt out of non‑essential emails.
• To prevent abuse and ensure security (domain validation, rate limiting).

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We share your article content with Groq (an AI provider) solely to generate summaries. Groq’s privacy policy applies to their processing. We do not sell your personal data. We may share aggregated, anonymised statistics (e.g., "average summary length") publicly.

We do not share your email or website data with any other third parties except as required by law.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data as long as your account is active. Cached summaries are stored indefinitely unless you delete them or close your account. After account deletion, all personal data and cached summaries are removed within 30 days. Feedback votes are anonymised after deletion.

5. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, India DPDP)

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
• Restrict or object to processing.
• Data portability.
• Withdraw consent (where applicable).

6. Cookies and Tracking

We do not use cookies for tracking. The widget uses localStorage to remember that you voted on a summary (prevents multiple votes). No third‑party tracking scripts are embedded.

8. Security

We use industry‑standard measures (HTTPS, hashed tokens, database encryption for API keys) to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

Your data may be processed on servers located in the United States (Groq’s infrastructure) and India (our hosting). By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you via email or dashboard notice. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the latest version.
